ROSANNE PEACH

A former teacher, Rosanne Peach lives with her husband John in Granville Centre NS and is the proud grandmother of three. Giving back has always been a part of her life. “As a young family with our two active boys, Shawn and Russell, we didn’t always feel we could donate financially, but I felt that donation of my time was just as valuable,” she explains.

Rosanne began volunteering with the Annapolis General Hospital Ladies Auxiliary in 1977. That work sparked an interest in healthcare in her community. “ It (the Auxiliary) is such an important part of the Annapolis community and we have experienced, and survived, so many changes over the years.”

Beginning in 1984, Rosanne served as the Auxiliary representative on the Annapolis General Hospital /Annapolis Community Health Centre Boards and was also the AGH/ACHC representative to the Blanchard Memorial Hospital Board/Valley Regional Hospital Board. She also represented the Annapolis Facilities on the Nova Scotia Health Association Board.

In 1992, along with her colleagues David Armstrong and Tim Roan, Rosanne presented a proposal to the Annapolis General Hospital Board recommending the formation of a Foundation. That proposal was accepted and the Annapolis West Health Foundation was born.

Over the years Rosanne has been Vice-Chair and Secretary/Treasurer of the AWHF Board, and has served as Chair of the Annapolis Seniors’ Safety Advisory Committee, and the Education Committee. She also helped out as Secretary of several Foundation committees and during the late 1990s and early 2000s she was Stage Manager for the ACHC Variety Shows.

But not all of Rosanne’s time is devoted to community health care. She sings in her Church Choir and is a longstanding member of the Annapolis & District Drama Group, taking on several jobs including Secretary, Stage Manager, Dressmaker and Costume Manager. Her sewing skills made her a big part of the Port Royal 400 Celebration as an authentic costume maker. How does she fit it all in? She takes great satisfaction in contributing to the quality of live where she lives. “I enjoy donating my time and talents to the community.”
