Silas Fancey
The Annapolis West Health Foundation is pleased to announce Silas Fancey as a recipient of the 2022-2023 Student Education Bursary. Silas is studying Kinesiology at Acadia University.
“Hi, I’m Silas Fancey and I have been chosen to receive the AWHF Education Bursary for the 2021-2022 and the 2022-2023 terms. I am attending Acadia University in my first year of Kinesiology. For my entire life I have always been active and really interested in the human body and how it moves. I was always involved in sports, and as I got older I became fascinated with bone and muscle development and how to become stronger and compete at higher levels. My first exposure to any kind of physiotherapy treatment was when I broke my hand in middle school. Immediately I knew that helping people recover from injuries would be something that I pursued a career in. Starting high school I began volunteering at the rehabilitation department at the Annapolis collaborative practice until Covid-19 made it harder for volunteers to work in hospitals. This reinforced my passion to study kinesiology right here in Annapolis valley. Currently I am pursuing a job becoming a chiropractor and hopefully running my own clinic some day, but who knows where life will take me!”
Congratulations to Silas from the Annapolis West Health Foundation Board and best wishes in your future studies.
